balanceOn the paths we walk in our lives, we may find ourselves the joyful provider and supporter to many people and of many things. While our loved ones, work and community benefit from this offering of our time and selves, we can forget the essential balance among this: offering that same attentive energy to our own beings.

intentionReiki may not be the thing for you. But it's worth a try. Also: try chiropractic, massage, acupuncture, yoga, meditation, bubble baths, walks in nature, unplugging, netflix bingeing, rest, EFT tapping, reading, journaling, daydreaming or howling at the moon. You hold the brush to your self-healing; what's on your canvas?

Usui ReikiUsui Reiki is a Japanese healing art introduced by Mikao Usui over 100 years ago. The Japanese word 'Reiki' can be translated as ' universal life force energy'.
Reiki's healing benefits arise from promoting the flow of this universal life force energy. A Reiki treatment is administered by a practitioner placing their hands in specific positions lightly on or slightly over the body. Reiki has been likened to acupuncture, without the needles. Everything is made of energy; stuck energy leads to various issues. Reiki helps to release what is stuck. I have also thought a Reiki session is, in a sense, a bit like being meditated on. A Reiki treatment is an ideal way to hit the pause button; to reconnect and rebalance oneself. Through deep relaxation, we give the body the space to let go of the tensions and troubles it is holding; we give the mind a rest from the constant barrage of stimuli and chatter. For the hour we spend together, I hold space for your peace and healing. |
Ear ConingEar coning or candling is a traditional healing modality with a long history of use. Practiced on a massage table while the client is fully clothed, a long hollow candle is gently placed in the ear canal and the end is lit. The heat draws like a slow vacuum and pulls toxins and impurities out of the ear canal and into the candle. Crackling sounds may be heard and a light sensation of warm air may be felt during treatment, but the user should feel no discomfort. Typically, one candle is used per ear, per treatment, and the session is typically around 40 minutes.
Ear coning gently supports ear health and many users make regular sessions a part of their self-care routine. Among the myriad of benefits experienced, users report relief from pressure, tinnitus, sinusitis, congestion and more. Clients who see me for this treatment rave about its effects. |
